Materials needed:
- Old lampshade lamp
- Rope or thick cord
- Hot glue
- New light bulb
- Tree disc
- drill bit and sandpaper
- Dried flowers or grasses
- We start by removing the old lampshade. Sometimes it's easy to unscrew it, but occasionally you need a little patience and maybe a pair of pliers. Once the shade is gone, only the lamp socket remains, and we can begin upcycling.
- Now comes the exciting part: the rope. Take a piece of thick string or rope and wrap it around the lamp socket. This will give your lamp a robust, rustic look. Hot glue will ensure the rope stays firmly in place. Make sure to wrap it evenly around the socket so it looks good and doesn't slip.
- Screw a new light bulb into the socket. You can choose a vintage bulb to enhance the industrial look, or an LED bulb for an energy-saving option. Test if the lamp works and make sure the bulb is securely in place.
- For the finishing touch, we'll use a tree slice as a base. Sand it smooth to achieve a rustic yet clean look. Then drill three small holes in the slice, where dried flowers or grasses can later be inserted.
- Now you can add your personal touch. Insert dried flowers or grasses into the drilled holes in the tree slice. This will give your lamp a natural and decorative feel. Combine different colors and textures to create a unique look.
