The warm wood tones and charming details invite you to relax and forget about time.
How were vanity units used in the past?
In the past, vanity units were used as a central piece of furniture for daily personal care and hygiene. Before the spread of bathrooms with running water and modern sanitary facilities, the vanity unit was a central element for daily hygiene care. There was a carafe and bowl on a vanity unit. Particularly in wealthier households, care at the vanity unit could represent a certain social status and cultural standard. With the proliferation of modern bathrooms with running water, the use of vanity units has changed over time. For a long time they were only viewed as decorative pieces of furniture or as grandma's heirlooms that you don't want to throw away, but find it inappropriate with its marble slab in the living room, kept in the basement... until... yes, until two sisters at Land & Liebe had the idea to equip the antique chests of drawers with modern functionality and thus use them again as what they once were: as real washing chests!
