COUNTRY HOUSE CONCEPT: KITCHEN-LIVING ROOM INSTEAD OF FITTED KITCHEN

Fitted kitchens - a relic of the 60s
Our kitchen modulesFitted kitchens are a relic of the 60s. The innovation of the time was considered ultra-modern and extremely practical. This attribution has become so deeply engrained in people's minds that the fitted kitchen has been considered the gold standard for generations. But let's take a closer look:
-
Is a fitted kitchen practical?
Our kitchen modulesKitchen planning takes hours in the kitchen studio. The kitchen installation is usually a medium-sized disaster. The installation teams often have to wait for months and then arrive 2-3 times before the installation can finally be successfully completed and the country-style fitted kitchen can finally be used. If you then realize that the planning wasn't ideal after all or you want to change something after a while, you're stuck: The kitchen is fixed. Completely inflexible. Whether your wallet has grown or you're about to move house: The kitchen usually stays as and where it is. It's built in and all options are blocked.
-
But isn't a fitted kitchen really practical to use?
Our kitchen modulesWe think not. It would be practical if you could insert a screw or a hook here or easily level out a dent. It would be practical if you could quickly wipe under the cupboards because the milk has accidentally spilled under the cupboards. Country-style fitted kitchens are also usually made from formaldehyde-containing laminated MDF boards. No screw will hold in it and every scratch in the foil is an entry point for moisture, which soon causes the damage to swell.
-
Our kitchen modules furnish the room - for a real country house feeling
Our kitchen modulesIn our opinion, a kitchen should above all be homely, warm and cozy. Our kitchen modules are finished in light, bright colors. We deliberately used round furniture legs to exude lightness through the open design and to emphasize the furniture character of the country-style kitchen. The Wilhelminian style fits perfectly into the country house and combines the enchanting, somewhat playful design of yesteryear with the convenience of today (drawer runners, carousel).
-
How was our country-style kitchen designed?
Our kitchen modulesWe designed our country-style kitchen for ourselves, just like our first washbasins in the past, so it's very close to everyday family life. We know from our own experience where there is a lack of space so that even the little ones have a work surface for baking cookies. In our country-style kitchen, they simply pull out a small extension to the work surface under the worktop. Then there's no tray needed to quickly serve strawberry tarts in the meadow. In our kitchen, the tray is always to hand but well stowed away. The towel hangs where you need it, directly under the sink.
-
But surely I need a lot of space for such a furnished eat-in kitchen?
We recommend a kitchen size of at least 10 square meters for our kitchen concept. Below that, it really does get cramped. Our show kitchen in our exhibition is light and airy, including a buffet and bar on 14 square meters.
-
What makes a country house kitchen in general?
Our kitchen modulesA country house kitchen is characterized by its rustic and cosy charm. It uses natural materials such as wood and stone for furniture and worktops. Playful details such as carvings or decorations on the cupboards are also typical. A country house kitchen often offers plenty of storage space and work surfaces to meet functional requirements. It is dominated by light or warm colors such as cream, beige or pastel colors to create an inviting atmosphere. You will also often find traditional elements such as farmhouse sinks, free-standing stoves or open shelves, which emphasize the rural character. Overall, a country-style kitchen radiates naturalness, cosiness and a touch of nostalgia.
-
What makes our country house kitchen from Land & Liebe so special?
Our kitchen modulesThe concept of our country house kitchen differs fundamentally from conventional country house style kitchens due to its modular design. It is based on historical country house kitchens, in which individual elements were loosely arranged next to each other. In order to meet modern requirements and create a harmonious ensemble, we have taken care to maintain "lines" for the eye: For example, the top drawers or the feet of our modules are all at the same height and level. The depth of the individual elements is coordinated. The carved ornaments (volutes) can be found on all elements. We have also chosen very special drop fittings for all kitchen blocks, which are finely coordinated with our fittings. On the one hand, this creates the light and airy feeling of a genuine country-style kitchen, while on the other, the eye finds resting places and harmony.

Natural materials create a healthy atmosphere in the country kitchen
Another aspect that is important to us is that it is becoming increasingly important for us to buy seasonally and regionally and to cook healthy and organic food. How much more harmonious is this in an atmosphere of natural materials such as solid wood or natural stone?
