Our restored antique vanity units come from various eras and countries. We shop at flea markets or in antique stores here in the north, but also in Denmark or France. Wherever possible, we ask for a history of the chest of drawers. Some are too crazy to believe, other chests of drawers keep their secrets to themselves, but feel free to ask us, maybe there is an anecdote about your favorite piece? The most important thing is, of course, that you can now write the rest of the story.

Upcycling is a practice in which used items - in our case antique chests of drawers, sideboards or bedside cabinets - are turned into quasi-new, high-quality products - i.e. washstands - instead of being disposed of as waste. It promotes a circular economy in which waste becomes a valuable resource and at the same time reduces dependence on raw materials. However, we do not use old washbasins in our antique vanity units, but only high-quality ceramics that meet today's standards.

The Baroque, Art Nouveau and Wilhelminian periods are three different eras in the history of furniture production, each with different characteristics and styles.

Baroque (1600-1720): The Baroque style is characterized by opulent, lavishly decorated pieces of furniture that were often made of mahogany or walnut. The furniture pieces are characterized by their strong, sweeping forms and lavish ornamentation, such as inlays, carvings and golden decorations.

Art Nouveau (1890-1910): Art Nouveau is a style that refers to the design movement at the beginning of the 20th century. The pieces of furniture are characterized by their flowing, organic shapes and elaborate metal decorations. They were often made of walnut or oak and used new materials such as tubular steel and sheet steel.

Gründerzeit (1850-1890): The Gründerzeit is an era characterized by industrial growth and economic changes in Europe. Furniture from this period is characterized by its solid construction and classic forms. They were often made of oak, walnut or cherry and featured precise ornamentation and handcrafted details.
